Account in the Riksdag protocol of 1927 (the opinion of the Constitutional Committee) on Kristina in 1650 wanting to institute an Order of Immanuel, the idea getting shot down by Axel Oxenstierna, and her in 1653 instituting the Order of Amarante

Bihang till Riksdagens protokoll vid lagtima Riksdagen i Stockholm år 1627, femte samlingen, page 2 (Konstitutionsutskottets utlåtande Nr 12), published by Norstedt, 1927; original at the University of California

The account:

English translation (my own):

In 1650, Queen Kristina proposed, according to the Council protocol of August 2, the establishment of a real order under the name of the Order of Immanuel. This proposal was never put into effect, however, due to, as is stated, the resistance the proposal met with from Axel Oxenstierna. A few years later, or in 1653, Queen Kristina, on her own and without seeking the opinion of the Council, established a court and knightly order, Amarante. This, which was awarded to several princes and other high-ranking persons, was not long-lived, however. With the Queen's abdication, the Order of Amarante ceased of its own accord.
