Contessa Balducci Gambalonga. Io vi hò protetta sin qui, secondo che mi è stato suggerito da chi fà le parti vostre in questa Corte, e l'hò fatto volontieri, per esser persuasa, che una Dama, pari vostra, havrebbe corrisposto a' miei favori con una intiera rassegnazione, la quale potrà meritar da me la continuazione; Ma per parlarvi con ogni sincerità, e schiettezza, io non posso approvar il desiderio che voi mostrate d'uscir dal monastero, sinche non sia fatto il vostro aggiustamento col Conte vostro marito, a qual fine io m'offerisco d'impiegar tutta la mia autorità, perche segua con ogni sicurezza, ed honorevolezza vostra. Se frà tanto voleste mutar luogo, e monastero, potrete sciegliervene un'altro, ed io m'adoprerò a farvelo ottenere, se sarà possibile, parendomi che al vostro decoro, reputazione, e quiete convenga d'operar cosi, accertandovi, ch'io non voglio tener mano a procurarvi quelle sodisfazzioni che siano di vostro pregiudizio, perche sarebbe mal corrispondere alla confidenza c'havete riposto in me, quand'io non riflettessi i vostri interessi cosi importanti. Vi prego però di considerare, quel tanto che vi sarà rappresentato dal vostro Procurator, al quale hò detto, e fatto dir piu particolarmente i miei sentimenti. Intanto vi domando un'intiera rassegnazione alla mia volontà, della quale vi potrete prometter'ogni favor, e cortesia nei termini convenienti al vostro stato. Dio vi prosperi, e consoli come desidero.

Je vous ai protégé jusqu'ici, d'après ce que m'ont été suggéré de ceux qui font votre parties dans cette cour, et je l'ai fait volontiers pour être persuadée qu'une dame comme vous aurait correspondu à mes faveurs par une entière résignation, laquelle pourra mériter de la continuation de moi. Mais pour vous parler avec toute sincérité et franchise, je ne puis approuver le désir que vous montrez de issir du monastère tant que votre règlement n'aura pas été fait avec le comte, votre mari, à cet effet je m'offre d'employer de toute mon autorité pour qu'il suive avec toute votre sécurité et votre honorabilité. Si vous vouliez tant muter de lieu et de monastère, vous pouvez en élire un autre, et j'essaierai de vous le faire obtenir, si c'est possible, car il me semble que votre dignité, votre réputation et votre quiétude devraient ouvrer dans ce façon, vous assurant que je ne veux pas vous tenir la main à procurer ces satisfactions qui sont de votre préjudice, car cela ne correspondrait pas à la confiance que vous avez placée en moi alors que je ne reflétais pas vos intérêts très importants. Je vous prie cependant de considérer ce que vous représentera votre procurateur, à qui j'ai dit et fait dire plus particulièrement mes sentiments. Cependant, je vous demande une résignation complète à ma volonté, de laquelle vous pouvez vous promettre toutes les faveurs et courtoisies dans les termes convenantes à votre état. Jag har skyddat Er hittills, enligt vad som har föreslagits mig av dem som gör Era parter i detta hov, och jag har gjort det villigt för att övertygas om att en dam som Ni skulle ha motsvarat mina tjänster med en fullständig resignation som kommer att kunna förtjäna fortsättning från mig. I have protected you up to now, according to what has been suggested to me by those who play your part in this court, and I have done it willingly to be persuaded that a lady like you would have corresponded my favours with a complete resignation which will be able to deserve continuation from me. But to speak to you with all sincerity and frankness, I cannot approve the desire you show to leave the monastery until your settlement is made with the Count, your husband, for which purpose I offer myself to use all my authority so that it may follow with all your safety and honour. If you wanted to change your place and monastery so much, you can choose another one, and I will try to get it to you, if it is possible, as it seems to me that your dignity, reputation, and peace should work in this way, making sure that I do not want to hold your hand in obtaining those satisfactions that are prejudicial to you, because it would not correspond to the confidence you have placed in me when I did not reflect your very important interests. I beg you, however, to consider what will be represented to you by your procurator, to whom I have said and made say my feelings more particularly. In the meantime, I ask you for a complete resignation to my will, from which you can promise yourself every favour and courtesy in the terms convenient to your state.
