Monsieur le General Konisgmarck. J'ay ordonnè au S[ieu]r Baron de Rose, qui part d'icy pour aller seruir au Leuant de Vous tesmoigner l'estime que J'ay pour vostre personne, et la iustice que Je rends à vostre merite, qui s'est distinguè si fort par la gloire, que Vous auèz acquise par tout, et quoyque le dit Baron soit assèz connù de Vous, il a neantmoins souhaittè de Moy cet attestat de l'interest, que Je prends en sa personne, et qui est le mesme que Je prends en tout ce qu'il y a de braues, et d'honnestes gens dans [le] Monde, ce que J'ay bien voulù luy accorder, Vous priant de le considerer, et fauoriser d'autant plus en ma considera[tion] puisque ie veux bien Vous tenir un conte particulier de tout ce que Vous ferèz d'obligeant pour luy à mon esgard. Och fastän nämnde friherre är ju väl nog känd för Er, önskar han dock detta betygelse om det intresse jag tar för hans person, och som är detsamma som jag tar emot alla tappra och ärliga människor i världen; vilket jag varit vänlig nog att bevilja honom, bedjande Er att ta hänsyn till honom och gynna honom desto mer i min konsideration, ty jag är villig att ta Er i särskild aktning till allt som Ni kommer att göra för honom av hänsyn till mig. Jag ber till Gud att han har Er i sin heliga vård.

I have ordered the Lord Baron von Rose, who is leaving here to go and serve in the Levant, to show you the esteem I have for your person and the justice I am rendering to your merit, which is so greatly distinguished by the glory you have acquired everywhere. And although the said Baron is well enough known to you, he nevertheless wishes this testimony of the interest which I take in his person, and which is the same that I take in all the brave and honest people in the world; which I was kind enough to grant him, begging you to consider him and favour him all the more in my consideration, as I am willing to take you into particular account of all that you will do for him out of regard for me. I pray to God that He have you in His holy keeping.
