Här förer iag mig till minnes, ath förre dagen, nembligen 28 Augusti, war andragit till H. K. M:tt, genom vtskåtet, om nya Kyrkio ordningen, som skole förfärdighas. H. K. M:tt menthe, någre aff Episcopi skole här i Stocholm sättia sigh, och dhen samma förfärdigha, men D. D. Den 29 augusti var sessio på Kapitelet. Då var 1. talat om vad handlat var dagen tillförne hos Hennes Kungliga Majestät och vad svar hon givit haver på Ständernas tilltal.
2. Var resolutionen uppläsen, och befalltes att där skulle varda explanerat och utstruket, efter Hennes Kungliga Majestäts vilje, det som där var infört om godsens restitution, dock likväl förebehållandes de orden däruti, att Kronan måtte komma till sina regalia.
3. Förordnades fyra uti ett utskott som skulle ännu gå upp till Hennes Kungliga Majestät och begära lindring på utlagorna.
4. Var ock vidlyfteligen talat om den ed som Hennes Kungliga Majestät skulle göra Ständerna, och Ständerna Hennes Kungliga Majestät åter ed igen reciproce, huru samma ed skulle kunna ställas, att antingen icke härigenom skulle ske menederi eller ock leges fundamentales Regni skulle falla; ty, om de svure på leges fundamentales Regni, så äre de alldeles vid denna tiden, uti denna articulis, inte hållna eller aktade, och kan så ingen svärja därpå med mindre han vill bliva menedare. Var ock betänkligt huru de skulle bliva kvitt den eden som deras förfäder för sig och sina efterkommande kraftligen gjort hava på leges fundamentales Regni, ibland allt annat, kraftligen innefattat i gamle konung Gustavs testamente; togo sålunda detta uti vidare deliberation.
Här för jag mig till minnes att förre dagen, nämligen 28 augusti, var andraget till Hennes Kungliga Majestät genom utskottet om nya kyrkoordningen som skulle förfärdigas. Hennes Kungliga Majestät mente någre av episcopi skulle här i Stockholm sätta sig och densamma förfärdiga, men doctor divinitæ Laurelius sade bättre vara att var episcopus tager den gamla kyrkoordningen hemma hos sig med flit [att] överse och utplåna och tillsätta vad han tycker likt är och sedan omsider allas meningar kolligeras och så goda män tillsättas som därav göra en korpus och kyrkoordningen, med vilken mening Hennes Kungliga Majestät gav sig nöjd. ...
French translation (my own):
Le 29 août, il y eut une séance au Capitole. Ensuite 1. on a parlé de ce qui s'était passé la veille avec Sa Majesté Royale et de la réponse qu'elle avait donnée aux adresses des États.
2. La résolution fut lue, et il fut ordonné que ce qui y était introduit au sujet de la restitution des domaines serait expliqué et barré, selon la volonté de Sa Majesté Royale, sans préjudice toutefois des mots qui y sont contenus, afin que la Couronne puisse venir à ses insignes.
3. Quatre ont été nommés à un comité qui s'adresserait toujours à Sa Majesté Royale et demanderait une réparation concernant les valeurs aberrantes.
4. On a aussi discuté en détail du serment que Sa Majesté Royale prêterait aux États, et que les États prêteraient réciproquement à Sa Majesté Royale, de la manière dont le même serment pourrait être prêté, de manière à ce qu'aucun parjure ne se produise, ou que les lois fondamentales du Royaume tomberaient; car, s’ils juraient sur les lois fondamentales du Royaume, alors à l'heure actuelle, dans cet article, elles ne seraient ni observées ni observées, et donc personne ne peut jurer sur ces lois à moins de vouloir devenir parjure. Sa Majesté Royale a pensé que certains évêques devraient s'asseoir ici à Stockholm et achever la même chose, mais le docteur en théologie Laurélius a déclaré qu'il serait préférable que chaque évêque prenne délibérément l'ancien ordre de l'Église chez lui pour le superviser et l'effacer et y ajouter ce qu'il pense que c'est bien, et alors finalement les opinions de chacun seraient rassemblées et des hommes si bons seraient nommés qu'ils formeraient un corpus et l'ordre de l'Église, dont Sa Majesté Royale se satisferait de l'opinion. ...
English translation (my own):
On August 29 there was a session at the Capitol. Then 1. it was talked about what had happened the previous day with Her Royal Majesty and what answer she had given to the addresses of the Estates.
2. The resolution was read, and it was ordered that what was introduced there about the restitution of the estates should be explained and crossed out, according to Her Royal Majesty's will, however, without prejudice to the words therein, that the Crown may come to its regalia.
3. Four were appointed to a committee which would still go up to Her Royal Majesty and request relief on the outliers.
4. It was also discussed in detail about the oath that Her Royal Majesty would make to the Estates, and which the Estates would reciprocally make to Her Royal Majesty, how the same oath could be taken, so that either by this no perjury would occur or that the fundamental laws of the Realm would fall; for, if they swore on the fundamental laws of the Realm, then at this very time, in this article, they would not be kept or observed, and so no one can swear thereunto unless he wants to become a perjurer. But if they swear otherwise, the fundamental laws of the Realm would fall flat, and thus the whole empire would collapse.
It was also considerable how they would quit the oath that their ancestors had powerfully made for themselves and their descendants on the fundamental laws of the Realm, among everything else, powerfully included in old King Gustav's will; they thus took this into further deliberation.
Here I recall that the previous day, namely August 28, the petition to Her Royal Majesty was made through the committee about the new church order that was to be prepared. Her Royal Majesty thought some of the bishops should sit down here in Stockholm and complete the same, but Doctor of Divinity Laurelius said it would be better for each bishop to take the old church order at home deliberately to oversee and obliterate it and to add what he thinks is good, and then finally everyone's opinions would be collated and such good men would be appointed that they would form a corpus and the church order, with which opinion Her Royal Majesty satisfied herself. ...
