Quelli che hanno tacciata la Regina di troppa altura, non hanno considerato, che la Maestà hà le Sue uirtu eccedenti a quelle d'altri, e che la Sua Sarebbe uscita dalle Regole, Se non hauesse Sostenuto p[er] tutto l'alto Suo grado. È ben vero che la grand'anima di S. M. non Seppe mai piegare a pregiuditio della Sua gloria, quando haueua la raggione dalla Sua, e ciò perche niun Monarca terreno mai meglio di lei Seppe, che Sopra li Rè non ui è altro ch'Jddio alla di cui gloria referì ogni Sua attione, e tutto il rispetto che essiggeua con Somma giustitia; Mà è anche certiss[i]mo che con tanta Sua Altura intendeua far conoscere à Rè e Principi Acattolichi, che Si come lei non per debolezza d'animo, ma Solo p[er] puro amore della uerità haueua Sprezzato [...] così anche loro con abbracciarla, non perderebbe punto, anzi uia più n'acquistarebbero di riputatione e gloria nel mondo, e poi la beata uita Se l'immitassero. E questo in fatti fù tutta la Sua mira.

All'incontro, mai alcuno piegaua più facilmente, ne con più gratia di S. M. ogni uolta che Si accorse, ò li fù rimostrato di hauer Sbagliato ò preso Equiuoco; Jn confirma di che Si potrebbe produrre proue auttentiche a Migliara, oue e Si diede torto, e ne dimandaua Scusa a molti anche di bassa Sfera; p[er]che in verità nel fondo del Suo grand cuore regnava vna Somma bontà, unita ad una vera humiltà. &c.

Quelli che hanno tacciata la regina di troppa altura non hanno considerato che la Maestà ha le sue virtù eccedenti a quelle d'altri, e che la sua sarebbe uscita dalle regole sè non avesse sostenuto per tutto l'alto suo grado. È ben vero che la grand'anima di Sua Maestà non seppe mai piegare a pregiudizio della sua gloria quando aveva la raggione dalla sua, e ciò perché niun monarca terreno mai meglio di lei seppe che sopra li re non vi è altro ch'Iddio alla di cui gloria riferì ogni sua azione e tutto il rispetto che esigeva con somma giustizia. Ma è anche certissimo che con tanta sua altura intendeva far conoscere a re e principi acattolici che siccome lei non per debolezza d'animo, ma solo per puro amore della verità, aveva sprezzato [...] così anche loro con abbracciarla, non perderebbe punto, anzi via più n'acquistarebbero di riputazione e gloria nel mondo, e poi la beata vita se l'imitassero. E questo in fatti fu tutta la sua mira.

All'incontro mai alcuno piegava più facilmente, nè con più grazia, di Sua Maestà ogni volta che si accorse, o li fu rimostrato di aver sbagliato o preso equivoco. In confirma di che si potrebbe produrre prove autentiche a migliara, ove è si diede torto e ne dimandava scusa a molti, anche di bassa sfera, perché in verità nel fondo del suo grand cuore regnava una somma bontà, unita ad una vera umiltà, etc.

French translation (my own):

Ceux qui ont accusé la reine de trop de hauteur n'ont pas considéré que les vertus de Sa Majesté excédaient celles des autres, et que les siennes auraient outrepassé les règles si elle n'avait pas toujours maintenu son haut rang. Il est bien vrai que la grande âme de Sa Majesté n'a jamais su se plier au détriment de sa gloire quand elle avait le droit de son côté, et c'est qu'aucun monarque terrestre n'a jamais su mieux qu'elle qu'au-dessus des rois il n'y a personne d'autre que Dieu, à la gloire duquel elle référait chaque action et tout le respect qu'il exigeait avec une justice suprême. Mais il est bien certain aussi qu'avec tant de hauteur elle entendait faire savoir aux rois et princes acatholiques que, comme elle l'avait méprisée, non par faiblesse d'âme, mais seulement par pur amour de la vérité [...], de même, en l'embrassant, elle ne perdrait pas de point, au contraire, ils acquerraient peu à peu plus de réputation et de gloire dans le monde, et puis la vie bienheureuse s'ils l'imitaient. Et c'était en fait tout son objectif.

En revanche, personne n'a jamais cédé plus facilement ni avec plus de grâce que Sa Majesté chaque fois qu'elle s'apercevait ou qu'on lui montrait qu'elle s'était trompée ou qu'elle avait eu un malentendu. En guise de confirmation, on pourrait produire une preuve authentique pour Migliara, où elle se blâmait et s'excusait auprès de beaucoup, même de bas rang, parce qu'en vérité, au fond de son grand cœur régnait la bonté suprême, combinée avec la vraie humilité, etc.

Swedish translation (my own):

De som har anklagat drottningen för för mycket högfärd ansåg inte att Hennes Majestäts dygder överträffade andras och att hennes skulle ha gått utöver reglerna om hon inte alltid hade bibehållit sin höga rang. Det är mycket riktigt att Hennes Majestäts stora själ aldrig visste hur hon skulle böja sig till skada för hennes ära när hon hade rätten på sin sida, och det beror på att ingen jordisk monark någonsin visste bättre än hon att det över konungar inte finns någon annan än Gud, till vars ära hon rapporterade varje handling och all den respekt han krävde med högsta rättvisa. Men det är också mycket säkert att hon med så mycket av sin högfärd hade för avsikt att göra det känt för icke-katolska konungar och furstar att eftersom hon hade föraktat henne inte av själens svaghet, utan bara av ren kärlek till sanningen [...], så också, genom att omfamna henne, skulle hon inte tappa punkten, ja, de skulle gradvis få mer anseende och ära i världen, och sedan det välsignade livet om de imiterade det. Och detta var egentligen hela hennes mål.

Å andra sidan har ingen någonsin givit efter lättare, inte heller med mer nåd, än Hennes Majestät varje gång hon märkte eller visades att hon hade gjort ett misstag eller haft ett missförstånd. Som bekräftelse på detta kunde autentiska bevis framställas för Migliara, där hon skyllde sig själv och bad om ursäkt till många, även de av låg rang, ty i sanning i djupet av hennes stora hjärta härskade den högsta godheten, kombinerad med sann ödmjukhet, etc.

English translation (my own):

Those who have accused the Queen of too much hauteur did not consider that Her Majesty's virtues exceed those of others, and that hers would have gone beyond the rules if she had not always maintained her high rank. It is very true that Her Majesty's great soul never knew how to bend to the detriment of her glory when she had the right on her side, and this is because no earthly monarch ever knew better than her that above kings there is no one but God, to whose glory she reported every action and all the respect He demanded with supreme justice. But it is also very certain that with so much of her hauteur she intended to make it known to non-Catholic kings and princes that as she had despised her not out of weakness of soul, but only out of pure love of truth [...], so too, by embracing her, she would not lose point, indeed they would gradually acquire more reputation and glory in the world, and then the blessed life if they imitated it. And this in fact was her whole aim.

On the other hand, no one ever gave in more easily, nor with more grace, than Her Majesty every time she noticed or was shown that she had made a mistake or had a misunderstanding. In confirmation of this, authentic proof could be produced for Migliara, where she blamed herself and apologised to many, even those of low rank, because in truth in the depths of her great heart reigned supreme goodness, combined with true humility, etc.
