Stormäktigsta Drottning! Högtärade, älskeliga kära Fru Moder!
Vid detta tillfället att min Architekt och Hennes Maj:t min högtärade älskeliga kära Fru Moders Kammarherre, Nicodemus Tessin nu gör en resa, så eljest till åtskilliga utrikes orter, som enkannerligen till Italien, och der lärer söka den nåden att uppvakta Eders Maj:t, har jag utaf en son-kärlig affektion för Eders Maj:t intet velat förbigå, att låta genom honom aflägga hos Eders Maj:t min son-kärliga helsning och den estime jag bär för Eders Maj:t, desslikes förnimma om Eders Maj:ts tillstånd, hvilket jag innerligen önskar måtte vara lyckligt. Och emedan han med särdeles vördnad vet att berömma den nåd och ynnest Eders Maj:t emot honom för detta vid sitt vistande derute förklarat hafver; ty lefver han i den ödmjukaste förtröstningen, att Eders Maj:t efter Dess vanliga generositet lärer än ytterligare vela unna honom den lyckan, att få hugna sig af samma Eders Maj:ts nåd; hvarom jag i lika måtto vill Eders Maj:t ombedit hafva, och att Eders Maj:t täcktes genom Dess högt gällande rekommendationer öppna honom vägen hos en och annan af dem han uti sin profession kunde hafva någon förkofring och nytta att förvänta. Hvilket såsom han med underdånig skyldig devotion lärer erkänna; alltså vill jag ej eller underlåta, att vid alla lägenheter betyga Eders Maj:t den förpligtelsen jag derföre hafvandes varder, och befaller Eders Maj:t emedlertid och städse uti den aldra högstes nådiga hägn och beskydd, till all sjelf åstundad lycksalighet och välgång son-kärligen.

Très puissante Reine, très honorée et très chère Madame ma Tante,
A cette occasion que mon architecte et chambellan de Votre Majesté Madame ma très honorée et très chère Tante, Nicodème Tessin, voyagent maintenant dans plusieurs lieux étrangers, particulièrement en Italie, et y sollicitent la grâce de faire la cour à Votre Majesté, moi, avec une népotale affection pour Votre Majesté, je n'ai pas voulu me laisser passer pour lui adresser mes salutations personnelles et l'estime que j'ai pour Votre Majesté, ainsi que pour connaître l'état de Votre Majesté, dont je souhaite sincèrement qu'il soit heureux. Et parce qu'il sait avec un respect particulier louer cette grâce et les faveurs que Votre Majesté lui a déclarées durant son séjour là-bas, il vit donc dans la plus humble confiance que Votre Majesté, avec sa générosité habituelle, voudra encore lui offrir la bonheur de pouvoir se livrer à la même grâce de Votre Majesté, que j'aurai également demandé à Votre Majesté, et que Votre Majesté a eu la bonté de, par ses hautes recommandations, lui ouvrir la voie à un ou deux de ceux dans sa profession qu'il aurait pu avoir une certaine connaissance et utilité à attendre. Lequel, comme il le reconnaîtra avec une dévotion soumise, je ne veux pas non plus manquer de témoigner à Votre Majesté en toutes occasions l'obligation que j'ai envers elle, et de recommander Votre Majesté, en attendant et toujours, à la gracieuse protection de le Très-Haut, et je vous souhaite népotalement bonheur et prospérité.

Most powerful Queen, my most honoured and beloved Lady Mother,
On this occasion that my architect and Your Majesty my most honoured and beloved Lady Mother's chamberlain, Nicodemus Tessin, is now traveling in several foreign places, particularly in Italy, and there to seek the grace to pay court to Your Majesty, I, with a filial affection for Your Majesty, did not want to let it pass me by to give Your Majesty my personal greetings and the esteem that I have for Your Majesty, as well as to learn the state of Your Majesty, which I sincerely wish may be happy. Note: In French Karl addressed Kristina as his aunt, whereas in Swedish he addressed her/him/them as his mother. Because Kristina had adopted her cousin Karl Gustav, Karl's father, as her/his/their son in order to make him her/his/their heir, the younger Karl inherited that title upon his father's death.
