The postscript:

Si l'on faisoit la guerre en Suède à l'ancienne maniére, ils ne perdroient par les Provinces comme ils font; ils en acquerreroient encore d'autres, & les conserveroient, sans que personne eût la hardiesse de les leur ôter, comme on l'a vu à la Paix de Westphalie. Le malheur de la Suède est donc de ne pas suivre l'ancien usage. Le tems nous éclaircira de ce qu'il en sera.

Swedish translation (my own):

Om de förde krig i Sverige på det gamla sättet, så skulle de inte förlora landskapen som de gör; de skulle skaffa sig ytterligare andra och behålla dem, utan att någon hade djärvheten att ta bort dem, som man såg vid Westfalens fred. Sveriges olycka är därför att inte följa den gamla seden. Tiden får utvisa vad som kommer att hända.

English translation (my own):

If they made war in Sweden in the old way, they would not lose the provinces as they do; they would acquire still others, and keep them, without anyone having the boldness to take them away, as one saw at the Peace of Westphalia. The misfortune of Sweden is therefore to not follow the old custom. Time will tell us what will happen.
