J'ai appris le misérable état où les Suédois sont réduits. Cela ne m'étonne pas. Comme les choses se gouvernent chez eux, cela ne peut pas aller autrement. Que Dieu dispose tout à sa plus grande gloire & à son service.

Swedish translation (my own):

Jag har förnummit det eländiga tillstånd där svenskarna är reducerade. Det förvånar mig inte. Eftersom saker och ting styrs där kan det inte vara annorlunda. Må Gud disponera allt till sin större ära och till sin tjänst.

English translation (my own):

I have learned of the miserable state in which the Swedes are reduced. That does not surprise me. As things are governed there, it cannot be otherwise. May God dispose everything to His greater glory and to His service.
