Dear brother,
I had set my mind today to write to both dear Father and a whole bunch of others down there, but at the same time a messenger came after me to tell me that I had to go up to the castle, since the French ambassador had to have an audience with the Queen and take leave to go to Lübeck for the treaty. And he shall be treated at the castle in the large square with the whole Council of the Realm and officers, to which banquet I have also got a list to run around and invite up to 50 people for 5 o'clock tonight, and it's now struck 2 o'clock. So don't you think I'm writing anything hastily. ...
