Dhen 6 Julij klockan wid pass Nie gingo wij aff Capitelet och på Rijckzsalen, och dhå begyntes Rijckzdaghen medh alfwar företagas. H. Excellentia RickzCancellarius Grefue Axell Oxenstierna hadhe aldraförst på K. M:ttz wägnar en kort Orationem till ständerna (:men H. K. M:tt sat på sin Throon fremst i Rickzsalen:) tacksäiandes dhem för hörsamheet och lydno effter K. M:ttz befalning komma tilstädes, försäkrandes dhem om K. M:ttz gunst och Nådher &c. och dhetta talte alt Cancellarius stando. Sädhan war ipsa Propositio vpläsin. Dhernäst svarade för Ridderskapet dheras Marskalk Swante Sparre, Archiepiscopus för Clerezijt, Nils Nilson Stocholms Bergemestare för Borgeskapet, Peder Erichson een Roospijckz bondhe för bönderna. Alles dheras taall war: ath dhe tackadhe Gudh som hadhe bewarat H. K. Hans Excellentia Rikscancellarius greve Axel Oxenstierna hade allraförst på Kungliga Majestäts vägnar en kort orationem till Ständerna (men Hennes Kungliga Majestät satt på sin tron främst i Rikssalen), tacksägandes dem för hörsamhet och lydno efter Kungliga Majestäts befallning komma tillstädes, försäkrandes dem om Kungliga Majestäts gunst och nåder, etc.; och detta talte allt cancellarius Stånde. Sedan var ipsa propositio uppläsen. Därnäst svarade för ridderskapet deras marskalk, Svante Sparre, archiepiscopus för kleresit; Nils Nilsson Stockholms borgmästare för borgerskapet; Peter Eriksson, en rospiksbonde för bönderna. Le 6 juillet, à neuf heures, nous avons quitté la capitale et nous sommes allés au Salle d'État, puis la Diète a commencé pour de bon. Son Excellence le Grand Chancelier du Royaume, le comte Axel Oxenstierna, tout d'abord, au nom de Sa Majesté Royale, a prononcé un bref discours devant les États (mais Sa Majesté Royale était assise sur son trône devant la salle d'État), les remerciant d'avoir écouté et obéi au commandement de Sa Majesté Royale d'être présents, les assurant de la faveur et des grâces de Sa Majesté Royale, etc.; et le chancelier en parla à tous les États. English translation (my own):
On July 6th, at nine o'clock, we left the capital and went to the Hall of State, and then the Riksdag began in earnest. His Excellency the Grand Chancellor of the Realm, Count Axel Oxenstierna, first of all, on behalf of Her Royal Majesty, gave a short speech to the Estates (but Her Royal Majesty was seated on her throne in the front of the Hall of State), thanking them for listening to and obeying Her Royal Majesty's command to be present, assuring them of Her Royal Majesty's favour and graces, etc.; and the Chancellor spoke this to all the Estates. Then the proposition itself was read out. Next, their marshal, Svante Sparre, archbishop for the clergy, answered for the nobility; Nils Nilsson, the mayor of Stockholm, for the burghers; Peter Eriksson, a peasant from Roslagen, for the peasants. All their speech was that they thanked God, who had preserved Her Royal Majesty and set her on the seat of her ancestors; they desired that God would confirm and bless the same good work; they also thanked Her Royal Majesty for all royal favours and graces, and they assured Her Royal Majesty of all submissive loyalty and obedience, etc. With that, each Estate received a copy of the Riksdag proposition and then prepared to resolve.
