Nous voudrions que la disposition de cette affaire dépendit entiérement de nous, pour pouvoir terminer cette Négociation avec autant de facilité & de promptitude que nous l'avons entreprise.
Ce n'est qu'à elle-même que V. M. est redevable de cet empressement paternel. Nous croyons sans peine ce qu'elle dit, & que, quel qu'en soit l'événement, la tranquillité de son Ame Royale & son affection envers nous seront toujours les mêmes. La grande générosité qui a pu faire abandonner à V. Vi skulle vilja att dispositionen av denna affär helt och hållet skulle bero på Oss, för att kunna slutföra denna förhandling med så mycket lätthet och skyndsamhet som Vi åtagit Oss.
Det är bara till Er själv som Ers Majestät står i tacksamhet för denna faderliga iver. Vi tror på det Ni säger utan svårighet, och att, oavsett händelse, kommer lugnet i Er kungliga själ och Er tillgivenhet mot Oss alltid att vara densamma. We would like the disposition of this affair to depend entirely on Us, in order to be able to conclude this negotiation with as much ease and promptitude as We have undertaken it.
It is only to yourself that Your Majesty is indebted for this paternal eagerness. We believe what you say without difficulty, and that, whatever the event, the tranquility of your royal soul and your affection towards Us will always be the same. The great generosity which was able to cause Your Majesty to abandon the kingdoms which you possessed in order to consecrate yourself to God can still much more easily conform to the Divine Will in the acquisition of another which could well increase your fatigues, but in no way your splendour or your greatness.
We have learned from the Marquis del Monte, with great pleasure, of Your Majesty's good health and your soon return, which We greatly desire. In this and in every other instance We wish Your Majesty every kind of prosperity, and affectionately impart to you Our apostolic blessing. Chcielibyśmy, aby rozstrzygnięcie tych spraw zależało wyłącznie od Waszej Wysokości, abyśmy mogli zakończyć je z taką łatwością i pomyślnością, z jaką się zajęliśmy. Wasza Wysokość nie zawdzięcza tej ojcowskiej troski nikomu innemu, jak tylko sobie.
