Vi ringrazio del vostro bel libro che m'havete mandato accompagnato con espressioni da me gradite, a misura della stima ch'io fò della vostra persona, e delle opere vostre. L'ogetto di quest'ultima è tale che dovrebbe inamorar ogn'uno senza darvi gelosia; Mà mi dispiache, e credo che dispiaccia anco a voi, d'haver si pochi Rivali. Un'opera si pellegrina, come la vostra, dovrebbe darvene molti, ed io spero che voi havrete quella ricompensa c'hebbe il vostro Angelico Maestro, da chi non defrandò mai niuno della sua mercede: Voi lo sapete, e però non occorre altro; Mà non sapete già ch'io son in colera con voi d'un errore c'havete fatto con abbruciar le altre opere vostre, mi dispiace d'haverne poche, ma quelle poche voglio conservarle a dispetto vostro; Al fatto non vi è rimedio, bisogna haver pazienza. Intanto vi ringrazio di nuovo, e vi auguro dal Cielo ogni prosperità.

Je vous remercie pour le beau livre que vous m'avez envoyé accompagné d'expressions qui me plaît, selon mon estime pour votre personne et pour vos œuvres. L'objet de celle-ci est tel que tout le monde devrait s'enamourer sans vous donner de jalousie, mais je suis fâchée, et je pense que vous l'êtes aussi, d'avoir si peu de rivaux. Un ouvrage de pèlerin comme le vôtre devrait vous en rapporter beaucoup, et j'espère que vous aurez cette récompense que votre maître angélique a eue de celui qui n'a jamais privé personne de sa récompense. Vous le savez, et donc rien d'autre n'est nécessaire, mais vous ne savez pas déjà que je suis en colère contre vous à cause d'une erreur que vous avez commise en brûlant vos autres œuvres, je suis fâchée d'en avoir peu; mais je veux garder ces quelques-uns, malgré vous. Il n'y a pas de remède au fait, il faut être patient. En attendant, je vous remercie encore, et je vous souhaite toute prospérité du Ciel.

Jag tackar Er för den vackra bok som Ni skickat mig åtföljd av uttryck som behagar mig, enligt min aktning för Er person och för Era verk. Syftet med det senare är sådant att alla skall förälska utan att ge Er avundsjuka, men jag är ledsen, och jag tror att Ni också är det, för att Ni har så få rivaler. Ett pilgrimsarbete som Ert borde ge Er många, och jag hoppas att Ni skall få den belöningen som Er änglamästare fick av en som aldrig berövat någon sin belöning. Ni vet det ju, och därför behövs inget annat, men Ni vet inte redan att jag är arg på Er på grund av ett misstag som Ni har gjort genom att bränna Era andra verk, jag är ledsen över att ha få av dem; men jag vill behålla de få, trots Er. I thank you for your beautiful book that you have sent me accompanied with expressions that please me, according to my esteem for your person and for your works. The object of the latter is such that everyone should enamour without giving you jealousy, but I am sorry, and I think you are sorry too, for having so few rivals. A pilgrim work like yours should give you many, and I hope that you will have that reward that your angelic master had from one who never deprived anyone of his reward. You know it, and therefore nothing else is needed, but you do not already know that I am angry with you because of an error that you have made by burning your other works, I am sorry to have few of them; but I want to keep those few, in spite of you. There is no remedy for the fact, one must have patience. In the meantime, I thank you again, and I wish you every prosperity from Heaven.
